A Master for a Master, tribute to Raymond Weil founder of the Brand in 1976. He loved music and wanted for watches opera and musical names, even in Baselworld booth is like a cello. On web a video remembers Raymond Weil with friends saying only a single word; I met him many times, he was gentleman of the past while watches were contemporary. Now Elia Bernheim, third generation, follows grandfather and father’s steps.

Michele Sofisti ha lasciato Gucci

In un comunicato Gucci informa che Michele Sofisti, dopo sei anni, ha lasciato l’incarico di CEO per orologi e gioielli Gucci. Ci spiace perché, a nostro parere, aveva fatto un buon lavoro non solo in Italia ma anche all’estero, cosa che gli viene ampiamente riconosciuta nel CS che annuncia anche come Patrizia Di Marco sarà CEO fino ad una nuova nomina. Quando i vertici cambiano, cambia un po’ tutto, c’est la vie, soprattutto in orologeria. Auguri quindi sia a Michele sia al Brand.

Hublot dalla Ferrari 305 al Cricket

hublot due fondelliNon ci sono molte analogie tra le dream-car o la F1 e l’ecologico Cricket, ma da novembre il loro fil rouge si chiama Hublot. Per la stampa seguire la girandola di iniziative della Marca di Nyon con le edizioni speciali che attraggono come calamite, non è semplice: sono tante (forse anche troppe) ma rientrano nell’impatto mediatico voluto da Jean-Claud Biver che di queste cose se ne intende.

Dream car or F1 are completely different from Cricket, but since November there is a fil-rouge called Hublot with two watches. May be there are too many “special edition” and it’s’nt easy to follow them, but J.C,Biver follows this philosophy, he knows what he wants and results seem very good. Now two watches in limited edition have been done: Big Bang Ferrari 305 and Cricket Classic Fusion Chrono.

Gastronomia e orologi, da Peck a Fossil

Abbiamo visto che orologi e gastronomia sono un binomio che interessa. Il cibo si accompagna alle lancette non solo per i tempi necessari in cucina o per le ore canoniche di pasti, aperitivi o il five o’clock, per noi è anche un insolito sottofondo per parlare di orologi.

Watches and good food often are walking together, not only because time is important for cooking or because there are special hours for food, from breakfast to lunch, from five o’clock to dinner. In Milano Peck a well known gastronomy shop has an old wood watch showing different hours, while Fossil invites clients and journalists for the fourth thursday in November offering a really “Thanksgiving day” american menu.

gagà quirkyIn primavera a Baselworld il marchio italiano presentò Quirky (a lato) con movimento scheletrato Made in Swiss e scappamento a tourbillon. Se la tecnica era quella tradizionale, divertenti invece le scelte cromatiche.

In Baselworld 2014 we saw Quirky tourbillon, on the left, with skeleton movement Swiss Made (only 20 pieces) with  red, black,white, green and blue details,  but it was not the Anniversary Watch for first ten years of the Brand, to discover it click and read everything.

Tommaso TrussardiC’è una novità nel mondo degli orologi legati a marchi Moda, anzi un ritorno, presentato il 26 novembre a Milano da Tommaso Trussardi, AD dell’omonima azienda (nella foto a sinistra) e da Massimo Carraro, CEO del Gruppo Morellato.

There is a novelty among fashion watches: Trussardi comes back among watches with new collections made by Morellato Group; designer Gaia Trussardi who, after having chosen Trussardi’s oval, worked on it with tho ladies stylist of Morellato Group.

Londra porta fortuna a Halda

0024-IMG_4511-2-1024x607La capitale britannica è diventata molto importante per l’orologeria di pregio. Una vera escalation che l’ha coinvolta vicino a città magiche come Parigi e Venezia mete del turismo internazionale. Anche Halda lo ha sperimentato.

London is very important for selling watches, new boutique has been opened; Halda in August introduced with Page&Coper its Race Pilot , The swedish brand was also in Salon QP where in “Watch of the year 2014” won the design prize.

Swatch in Montenapoleone

MikaNon è la prima volta che Swatch ha un suo negozio in “Montenapo” a Milano, ma il nuovo punto vendita, inaugurato ieri sera al n°25 della via più elegante di Milano, è molto più vicino a quello che ho sempre pensato fosse lo spirito di Swatch.

Swatch was already in Montenapoleone in Milano but the new boutique, opened yesterday is special, the new Concept by Carlo Giordanett brought the brand back to Swatch spirit and emotion of years Eighty; Mika, honor guest, and his exclusive concert were more than enough for the evening success.

Breil-Abarth seconda collezione

aperturaNel novembre 2013, per il cinquantesimo anniversario del marchio Abarth con lo scorpione (segno zodiacale di Carlo Abarth) Breil presentava la prima collezione di orologi dedicati a queste automobili.

One year ago Breil and Abarth signed a partnership for watches and now, in Abarth Headquarter in Torino, a new chronograph collection has been shown: four with movement Miyota and one with movement ISA analogic-digital. All with steel case sub 1o Atm. and special details (red, blue, green, gun and light gun) on dial and strap.
