PT6248_SS001_332_PRUn accordo originale è quello che Maurice Lacroix ha rinnovato con Movember (Mo+November) e che, se fosse ancora in vita Gerald Genta, avrebbe trovato nel geniale designer del Royal Oak e di tanti altri orologi, un grande sostenitore.

A peculiar agreement (Gerald Genta would have appreciated it) between Maurice Lacroix and Movembe: in order to help health research. Some gentlemen will leave their mustaches grow during November and Maurice Lacroix made two limited serie of Pontos S, one with white moustace for people who got more money and the other with orange ones to be sold on web.

Majilis Parliament OmanIn febbraio abbiamo presentato il regolatore o oscillatore “armonioso” realizzato da Rudis Sylva, una soluzione interessante che aveva avuto il suo battesimo a Baselworld 2009.

La frase non è nuova e nel caso degli orologi fa sempre sorridere. Per la campagna di Bomberg si accompagna alla fotografia di un generoso decolleté femminile…il che non è affatto male per una marca trasgressiva, ma che resta nelle righe e che ha scelto una cassa molto personale con la corona alle 12.

New Bomberg campaign says: toys for boys and watches. appear on a beautiful lady’s decolleté, nice idea indeed and watches have always a personal case with crown at 12. All with quartz movement, collection 68 changes quickly in pocket watch.

A new tourbillon, Vertalor, for Louis Moinet 10th anniversary. Hand winding movement and special architecture on opened dial: at 12 barrel with worked cover hang from a gold bridge, at 6 tourbillon from a gold 3 armed-bridge, between them remontoir for 72 hours. Squelette hands, the seconds’ hand reminds the one of a clock Louis Moinet realized in 1825.

VANC&A 10690298_10152485550593440_1910798404812023320_nIn gennaio al S.I.H.H. abbiamo ammirato il Planetarium, manca poco al S.I.H.H. 2015 e quell’orologio è arrivato a Milano, nel negozio VC&A di via Verri in compagnia del poetico GMT Heures d’ici et Heures d’ailleures. Insieme a loro, ma in pole position, il Lady Arpels Heures Filantes esposto a Watches&Wonders.

In Geneva we saw Planetarium and poetic Pierre Arpels GMT, both arrived in VC&A  boutique in Milano together with the new Lady Arpels Heures Filantes, one of Hong Kong Watches&Wonders stars. On the dial, rotating in 12 months, constellations and on the back with a date it’s possible to know the number of shooting stars in the sky.

MO14 copiaIntervistare un astronauta è emozionante. A me è successo due volte: con Thomas Stafford e Eugene Cernan, per  anniversari delle missioni spaziali legate a Omega. Pensando a cosa è stato nel 1969 l’Apollo 11, mi è tornato in mente quanto capitò a un collega negli States con il compito di intervistare Neil Armstrong da poco rientrato sulla terra.

To interview an astronaut is not easy. Thanks to Omega I got twice, with Thomas Stafford and Gene Cernan for mission’s anniversaries. Thinking about 1969 July 29th night, I am also remembering what happened to a colleague who in U.S. had to interview Armstrong. The astronaut was tired of interviews and asked for police to keep his privacy… (I apologize if I don’t go on with translation, but otherwise italians could know too soon the history)…

bacio dna berlinA Berlino 25 anni fa cadeva il muro (lungo 155 Km) eretto in una sola notte nell’agosto 1961 per separare la città occidentale da quella sotto l’Unione Sovietica. Una data storica che molti di noi hanno vissuto e che Romain Jerome vuole ricordare con un nuovo orologio: DNA-Berlin.

Another watch in the lucky collection Little Prince, written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Iron case ø 46 mm, blue dial, self winding  (Pellaton) movement, 7 days power reserve. On the back: IWC Le Petit Prince – One out of 1000. For people loving limited edition also one of 17 pieces,  IWC Little Prince  brown case and dial, will be auctioned  by Sotheby’s on November 11th.

After the horse, in chinese zodiac there is goat, and even if chinese new year begins on February, Vacheron Constantin brought to Watches&Wonders two new watches ø 40 mm in platine or red gold with a goat applied to the centre of dial grand-feu enamelling; self-winding movement, Caliber 2460G4, rotor in gold 24 carat. Métiers d’Arts collection has also new dials with mustang, chamois and cranes.
